Our pottery is not mass produced, which means that each piece is unique and one-of-a-kind. You won’t find anything like it anywhere else.
Our Process
We take great pride in our pottery making process. Each piece is made by hand, from start to finish, using traditional techniques that have been passed down through generations. Here’s a breakdown of our process:
Wedging: We start by wedging the clay to remove any air bubbles and ensure that it is smooth and consistent.
Shaping: Then, we shape the clay into the desired form, using a variety of techniques, such as throwing on a pottery wheel or hand building.
Drying: Once the piece is formed, we let it dry completely before firing it in our kiln. This process can take up to 24 hours, depending on the size of the piece.
First Firing: After the piece is completely dry, we fire it in our kiln at a temperature of around 1,000 degrees Celsius. This process hardens the clay and makes it more durable.
Glazing: Once the piece has been fired, we apply the glaze. We use food-safe glazes that are free from harmful chemicals and toxins.
Second Firing: After the glaze has been applied, we fire the piece again, at a higher temperature of around 1,200 degrees Celsius. This process gives the piece its beautiful finish and makes it resistant to chipping and cracking.
Quality Control: Before we sell any of our pottery, we inspect each piece to ensure that it meets our high standards of quality. We check for any imperfections or flaws and make sure that the piece is structurally sound.
